Döhle Yachts’ Richie Blake recently spoke at the first ISS “Ship Managers Advisory Seminar”. The well attended event was organised and sponsored by a number of ISS members including Döhle Yachts during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this year.

As a forum for sharing information, promoting co-operation and enshrining best practice within the industry it proved to be a very valuable event. Among other presentations, Richie lead off with a regulatory and technical update, touching on the changes to PYC and LY3 as well as explaining the approach of Port State Control, targeting and concentrated inspection campaigns. He rounded off the presentation by detailing the crewing and certification requirements for larger LYC and PYC certified Yachts and commenting on the options for private yachts to charter in a number of jurisdictions.

Other speakers covered topics including the implementation of the Ballast Water Management Convention, the Manila amendments to the STCW convention and the 2017 amendments to the MLC. If you would like to be kept informed or invited to future events please contact exec-support@dohle-yachts.com.

Other activities during this year’s FLIBS included the normal mix of industry events and the 3rd Mare Forum Fort Lauderdale Yacht Summit at which Richie represented Döhle Yachts on a panel discussing the future trends in the industry.
