At Döhle Yachts, we are proud to announce our continued commitment to carbon offsetting by donating our 2025 Q1 associated emissions to the Soubré Hydroelectric Power Station in Côte d’Ivoire.

This project exemplifies the potential of hydropower to generate clean electricity by harnessing the natural flow of the Sassandra River. The Soubré Hydroelectric Power Station generates an impressive 270 MW of clean energy, significantly contributing to the region’s electricity needs. In addition to this, the project has developed a micro-hydro plant near Nawa Falls, which captures power from the waterfall’s natural force and utilizes a 17.3 km² reservoir. Together, these two power stations play a crucial role in meeting Côte d’Ivoire’s electricity demands.

Our decision to support Côte d’Ivoire’s hydroelectric efforts aligns with Döhle Yachts’ broader mission to contribute to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, this project supports:

  • SDG Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – which focuses on ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns.
  • SDG Goal 13: Climate Action – which focuses on taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts through integrating climate change measures, increasing education and awareness, and enhancing the planning of climate change related management.

We believe that initiatives like the Soubré Hydroelectric Power Station are vital for creating a sustainable futur and we committed to supporting projects that not only offset our carbon emissions but also contribute to the well-being of communities and the environment.

If you have or know of projects that align with our chosen SDG goals, please get in touch to info@dohle-yachts.com.
