Rob joined Döhle Yachts’ Southampton office in 2024 as a Senior Maritime Compliance Assistant, and was promoted to Maritime Compliance Officer in early 2025. He is part of the team that ensures managed vessels are properly certificated, safe, secure, and operated in an environmentally responsible manner.
Rob spent a decade at sea as a deck officer, primarily on sail training vessels, and held all ranks from Bosun to Captain. He transitioned to shore-based work by joining the ISM department of a large shipping company, where he focused on safety and crew training. His other duties included leading on American legislation and serving as Deputy DPA and CSO.
More recently, Rob spent ten years as a Course Leader at Warsash Maritime Academy, where he taught Navigation, Meteorology, and Voyage Planning to both Cadets and Senior Officers.
In addition to his seafaring certifications, Rob holds DPA, CSO, and Auditor qualifications, and has earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.
