We are pleased to announce a further addition to Döhle Yachts Technical Services Ltd with Piers Flood joining the team in Southampton.
Piers, formally Head of Projects, dealing with a number of new constructions, brings with him a wealth of knowledge from his shore side career as a yacht new build and operational manager as well as his 11 years seagoing experience as Chief Engineer.
Announcing Piers’ appointment Richie Blake, Director of Döhle Yachts Technical Services Ltd, commented “Piers combination of practical seagoing knowledge, coupled with his extensive experience managing and building large yachts brings further strength to the team. This continues our policy of identifying high profile team members who have first-hand on board yachting experience as well as shore base management skills, enabling us to provide our clients with genuine, professional and knowledgeable service.”
Piers has sailed as Chief Engineer on an extensive array of yachts from 36 – 90M, including the ground-breaking super sail yacht “Athena” before embarking on a shore side career building and managing yachts in numerous locations worldwide, including Russia, Turkey, Taiwan, the US and the Mediterranean.
A qualified yacht surveyor, Piers also holds a degree in business management and still retains the most senior yacht engineering “Y1” certificate of competency.
