From the 1st January 2021, cyber risk management must be addressed as part of a yacht’s Safety Management System (SMS).
IMO Resolution MSC.428(98) affirms that ‘an approved Safety Management System should take into account cyber risk management in accordance with the objectives and functional requirements of the ISM Code.’
As such, we have integrated these new cyber risk aspects into our existing Safety Management Systems, ensuring our clients are fully compliant prior to the entry into force date.
The new requirements call for a multi-faceted, joined-up approach to the management of cyber risks on board yachts. The principles, requirements and associated IMO guidance have been analysed by our team and compiled into an easy-to-digest cyber risk management manual.
