Carbon Offsetting 2025

As we reflect on 2025, Döhle Yachts is proud to reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and climate action through a structured, carbon offsetting programme supporting verified renewable energy projects in partnership with Yacht Carbon Offset.

Across the year, Döhle Yachts offset a total of 230 tonnes of CO₂e, contributing to renewable energy initiatives across hydropower, wind, and solar. Each quarter focused on a specific project, allowing us to support a diverse range of technologies and regions while delivering measurable environmental impact.

Q1 2025 – Hydropower in Côte d’Ivoire

In Q1, Döhle Yachts supported the Soubré Hydroelectric Power Station in Côte d’Ivoire. With a generation capacity of 270 MW, the facility harnesses the natural flow of the Sassandra River to provide clean, reliable electricity to the region. Supported by a nearby micro-hydro facility at Nawa Falls, the project plays an important role in reducing reliance on fossil fuels while strengthening local energy security.

Q2 2025 – Wind Energy in Namibia

During Q2, our offsetting contributions were directed towards the Ombepo Wind Project in Namibia, the country’s first utility-scale wind farm. The project was developed to reduce Namibia’s heavy dependence on imported electricity, which previously accounted for approximately 60% of national demand. Ombepo supports the government’s ambition to achieve 70% renewable energy in the national energy mix by 2030, while delivering significant emission reductions. Each megawatt-hour generated by the project is estimated to prevent 0.9871 tonnes of CO₂e, with annual emission reductions exceeding 22,000 tonnes of CO₂e and lifetime savings forecast to surpass 324,000 tonnes of CO₂e.

Q3 2025 – Solar Power in Mauritius

In Q3 2025, Döhle Yachts supported the Solitude Solar Project in Mauritius. Electricity generation on the island has historically relied heavily on imported fossil fuels, resulting in higher costs and associated emissions. The Solitude Solar Project increases the share of renewable electricity in the national grid, reducing greenhouse gas emissions while supporting Mauritius’ national “Sustainable Island” strategy, which targets 40–60% renewable energy by 2030.

Q4 2025 – Continued Support for Hydropower

In Q4 2025, we returned our support to the Soubré Hydroelectric Power Station, reaffirming our confidence in the project’s long-term contribution to clean energy generation and regional energy stability in Côte d’Ivoire.

Together, these quarterly initiatives demonstrate Döhle Yachts’ commitment to a balanced and thoughtful approach to carbon offsetting and supporting renewable energy projects across multiple technologies and geographies. Our efforts align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically:

• SDG Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – which focuses on ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns.
• SDG Goal 13: Climate Action – which focuses on taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts through integrating climate change measures, increasing education and awareness, and enhancing the planning of climate change related management.
