Döhle Yachts are changing the face of superyacht recruitment with the launch of Döhle Crew Connect, a free portal database that gives affiliated and registered Captains direct access to junior crew, which is now live. As the industry evolves, so must we.
Those junior crew who opt into the database may then be contacted by the captains, or their representatives, directly with employment opportunities, without intervention from our Recruitment department at no cost.
What is Döhle Crew Connect?
Döhle Crew Connect is a free portal database that gives affiliated and registered captains direct access to junior crew. The captains, or their representatives, will have the facility to search, using multiple criteria, for junior yacht crew at no cost. Those junior crew who opt into the database may then be contacted by the registered users directly, without intervention from our Recruitment department.
Why are you launching this free service?
We’ve noticed as the industry grows, crew numbers increase, and a greater focus is put upon recruiting via social media, that the recruitment process itself requires changing to remain effective. As the industry evolves, so must we. By implementing Döhle Crew Connect alongside our existing recruitment services, we aim to increase prospects for employment for junior crew and allow the Döhle Yacht Crew team greater capacity to provide a more in-depth service in the provision of senior crew.
What ranks are included in the database?
The ranks searchable within the Döhle Crew Connect database are:
- Deckhand
- Lead Deckhand
- Deckhand/Carpenter
- Dive Instructor
- Assistant Engineer
- Junior Steward/ess
- 3rd Steward/ess
- Laundry Personnel
- Crew Chef
Why are just ‘junior crew’ included?
We have chosen the above ranks because these are the most populous within our database and therefore the most in need of exposure.
Are Döhle Yacht Crew retaining their existing recruitment services?
We will continue to maintain all our existing recruitment services and our master database. As Döhle Crew Connect is an additional service, our recruitment team will still work on junior positions as required by our clients; likewise, given the greater detail and expertise required regarding more senior ranks, these will remain exclusively with a trained recruitment professional.
When can I register as a crew member in Döhle Crew Connect?
As a crew member, you may register with Döhle Crew Connect now. If you are already registered with Döhle Yacht Crew, you may opt in to the Döhle Crew Connect database by signing into your account and ticking the opt-in box. If you are not yet registered with Döhle Yacht Crew, please click ‘Register’ at the top of the page, remembering to tick the opt-in box.
How can I register as a crew member in Döhle Crew Connect?
- Register or sign into your account via the above ‘Register’ or ‘Register Here’ links,
- Complete all mandatory fields.
- Upload your CV, references, licences and photo.
- Ensure you indicate your availability status.
- Ensure you keep your ‘Current Location’ updated.
- Depending on your job type, you will be asked to ‘opt in’ to allow select Captains direct access to your personal details.
- Remember to return and update your details when your circumstances change.
- Depending on file sizes, you may need to wait a short while before your profile is updated on our database.
When can I register as a Captain in Döhle Crew Connect?
Affiliated Captains of Döhle will be contacted directly with their registration details. The database will take time to populate, therefore contact will be instigated by ourselves via email in the near future.
Subsequently, the portal database will then be available for application to all verified industry Captains, and this process will be communicated via our website and social media.
How can I register as a Captain in Döhle Crew Connect?
As an affiliated Captain of Döhle you will be sent dedicated login details that will allow you access to the Döhle Crew Connect database. If you have not received these and would be interested in an account please do contact us and we can set this up.
How do I search for crew as a Captain?
Once logged in to the Döhle Crew Connect database you can search for specific attributes, such as rank, qualifications and languages spoken.
Your search results list will show enough detail to help you decide if you want to click through to view the crew credentials. The crew details page will display, amongst other things, a photo, documentation and contact details.
The crew that you view are recorded against your record in the database for future reference, if required.
How will contact between crew and Captains occur?
As a Captain or Captain’s representative you are free to contact crew directly.
By opting into this secure database as a crew member, your details and documents will be searchable by select Captains who can then contact you directly with employment opportunities without our involvement and without incurring a placement fee. This will happen either by phone call or by email and via your registered contact details.
As crew, it is therefore important that you update your data regularly, particularly your contact details, location and your availability status.
As a registered crew member, is my data now visible to others?
Your data will be visible to third parties, only if you have specifically opted in to the Döhle Crew Connect database and then only to registered and affiliated Captains or their representatives.
