This quarter’s business-related flight emissions have now been offset via Yacht Carbon Offset, with the supported scheme being the Elmali Wind Project in Turkey.
The project comprises fifteen wind turbines in Turkey. There is also a high voltage transmission line connecting the plant to the national grid. The project reduces greenhouse gas emissions by replacing electricity generated by fossil fuel. The Turkish power grid is heavily dependent on fossil fuels, mainly natural gas. The project also helps to reduce Turkey’s dependency on electricity imports.

We will also be donating each quarter to the Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE) alongside each carbon offset. BLUE is a fantastic UK charity dedicated to restoring the health of the world’s oceans. It is engaged in numerous projects around the UK and Mediterranean that restore and protect marine habitats, as well as tackle unsustainable fishing.
