Superyachts will be included under MLC 2006 unless they are used entirely privately. It is possible that some vessels of less than 200 gross tons may not have to comply with some MLC requirements, but this will be down to the discretion of Flag States.

Isle of Man Maritime Labour Notices
These Maritime Labour Notices provide guidance on compliance with Isle of Man regulations which give effect to MLC 2006. Implementation of these guidelines will be taken as evidence of compliance with the Isle of Man regulations. The guidelines do not preclude the shipowner from demonstrating an equivalent or higher standard as an “alternative method” of evidence of compliance. Published March - April 2012.
