Shipping is perhaps the most international of all the world’s industries and, by its very nature and the elements in which it operates, potentially one of the most dangerous.
Also, over the last few years, all forms of transport have become subject to increased security regulations.
It has always been recognised that the best way of improving safety at sea is by developing international regulations and codes of practice and the training of crew members in the relevant procedures.
Large yachts are no exception, and several codes of practice have been adopted with which yachts must, where necessary, comply - such as the MCA’s Large Yacht Code, Classification Society Rules,  International Safety Management Code, SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW.

Our superyacht compliance and technical support services are tailor made for each yacht. Our Safety Management Systems (SMS) and security plans have been developed and fine tuned in cooperation with Captains and crew members. They have received praise, not only from those involved with the day-to-day running of yachts, but also from Flag and Port State Control Officers and client representatives.
Our yacht compliance staff work exclusively for Döhle, and have a wealth of experience in both large sailing and motor yachts and are adept at translating legislation into plans that actually work on board large yachts.
Our ISM auditors undergo continuous training and have excellent working relationships with the major classification societies and Flag State administrations.
We (under our trading name Döhle Private Marine Clients) hold Documents of Compliance (DOC) for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Cayman Islands, Bermuda and The Netherlands and can very quickly obtain a DOC from any Flag State when required.
We have a dedicated 24/7 Emergency Response Room which is fully equipped for its intended purpose and the Vantage team receive regular emergency response training.
In addition, we have the benefit of being able to call upon the Döhle Group’s commercial operations services to enhance our support functions.
